Abstract:
A key to survival in the world of business is the ability to make analysis, to plan and to react to the continuous change of the economic conditions in a quick and efficient manner. Economic and financial performance is a desideratum of any company. The present information systems bring an added value to the economic and financial performance at the microeconomic level. Through multidimensional models managers can explore information at different levels of granularity and the decision makers of any type can respond quickly to the changes in the business climate. The present article has the goal to design a multidimensional model based on the methodology to design data warehouse, proposed by Ralph Kimball. This model desires to facilitate financial analysis of the economic and financial performance indicators and the process of selling products in a large corporation, with a large number of branches (entities) in several countries. The model will form the basis of an application for decision support system, designed for decision makers, by creating structures for advanced multidimensional analysis like OLAP and Data Mining.\r\n
