Abstract:
Training, development and maintenance of the financial position are crucial for the success of an organization, especially in the current economic climate, says a new report by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and KPMG, called „Maximising people’s power: Effective talent management in finance”. \r\nThis study is commented by Jamie Lyon, ACCA expert. The main idea is that the report shows that the recruitment of true talents is one of the biggest challenges for the finance executives (CFOs) and that the financial position must seize the opportunity to make a relevant contribution to the success of organizations - whether they are in the public or private sector, whether they are part of listed multinational companies or small and medium companies. \r\nThis article addresses issues like the importance of talent management in the financial department activities, talent management for the restructure of the financial function and for the effectiveness of the financial function, together with opinions of specialists in the field. A subsequent article will address some practical aspects of talent management in 2011 and will offer the summarized conclusions of the study. \r\n\r\n
