Abstract:
The interest manifested by auditors in the business intelligence field has increased as these systems are becoming more present in organizations. In the same way as transactional systems, business intelligence systems require an ongoing audit.\r\nBusiness intelligence is a concept already classic which, in recent years, is associated with data warehouse technology. However, in the market for software products dedicated to assist decision-making process, many manufacturers promotes business intelligence software application which could not be classified in data warehouses field. This article presents the Business Intelligence as an activity involving the use of information that can be a viable to assure support in assisting managerial decision. Currently, most companies involved in developing software tools consider the data warehouse only as the infrastructure to business intelligence technologies. From this point of view, we could consider applications for data mining and OLAP tools as the main technologies for Business Intelligence.
