First Congress of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania: “Independence, transparency and quality!”

Abstract:
During two days – on 26 and 27 October 2006 – at the Hilton Hotel in Bucharest the First Congress of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania took place. \r\n\r\nA series of personalities of the profession in Europe, Romanian officials as well as 150 Romanian financial auditors these being those who obtained the best results in the audit engagements performed in the previous year. \r\n\r\nThe Congress scope was to discuss about the professional issues and the adequate solutions in order to face the big current challenges: on the one hand, the new exigencies generated by the big financial scandals, but also the new conditions of the globalization and of the profound movements at the level of the world economy and, on the other hand, the requirements extremely actual of development and of promoting the profession in Romania as an effect of our country access to the European Unions starting with 1 January 2007. \r\n\r\nReferring to this important moment of our professional body and of our profession Mr. Ion Mihailescu PhD stated to the press: \r\n„The First Congress organized by CFAR offered to the participants the possibility to find the most optimal solutions to the big challenges our profession faces: to ensure the independence, transparency and above all the quality of performing the audit engagements, which – as the events of the last years showed- have an essential role in cleaning the business environment, in ensuring a climate of trust and safety for the corporate governance, for the investors, for all the beneficiaries of the financial audit report.“\r\n
