„Scottish audit” at the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania

Abstract:
In order for the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania to achieve the membership of the Federation des Experts Comptables Europeens (FEE), it asked for the support of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) for the application to join this prestigious organization. Of course, given the well known commitment and the professionalism of ICAS, in order to grant this support, ICAS wanted to make an assessment of CAFR`s activities.\r\n\r\nFor this purpose, in November last year Mr. Kenneth Murray, head of International Relations Department visited the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania and have had a series of meetings with CAFR leadership and with main chief of departments within CAFR structure. At the end of his visit, he drafted a report.\r\n\r\nAs Mr. Ion Mihailescu, President of CAFR, stated, Mr. Muray`s visit to Romania was very useful both considering the conclusions of his report, but also considering the discussions with the specialists of the Chamber, giving a series of practical solutions and ideas for better organizing the activity developed by the Chamber. During his visit, Mr. Murray made an objective assessment but also tried to help us, and we take this opportunity to express our thanks for all his support.
