Abstract:
Throughout the world the profession has been changing rapidly over the past few years. There are a number of general points that will shape the accountancy profession at global level. \r\nThe coming together of fast-changing technologies, fragmented consumer tastes, long and multi-dimensional supply chains and increasing globalization has created a business environment which is now more complex than ever before, and as a result, has higher risk. As it usually said: „Complexity breeds risk - risk breeds regulation - which in turn requires further investment in compliance.“\r\n\r\nFuture trends in the profession like global harmonization of regulation, much broader financial reporting, the changing face of finance roles, the evolution of the finance function, increased regulation, harsher compliance, increased scrutiny from more stakeholders, financial reporting, communications, relationship building will determine the new look of the accountant and how he can add value to the business through: leadership, strategy and change, risk and compliance, finance specialisms, excellent communications skills, good relationships development.\r\n\r\n
