Abstract:
The National Day of Financial Auditors of Romania, the day that Romanians celebrate the Holy Great Martyr Demetrius the myrrh-streaming, considered the protector of auditors, was celebrated in Bucharest - on October 26 and Constanta - on October 27, as decided by Chamber`s Council.\r\n\tAt the opening ceremony in Bucharest, Professor Horia Neamţu, Ph.D., president of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania, has transmitted to the participants the message of the Chamber`s Council addressed to all members of the professional organization. In this Message there are remembered the recent actions taken in support of members and trainees, particularly the assumption by the Chamber of organization of the trainings, both in the classical system and the e-learning system.\r\nCouncil`s Message referred to the position increasingly important and active of Romanian financial auditors in international organizations of the profession ­– IFAC, FEE, and FIDEF, and in relationships with professional organizations in other countries. Among the most important actions taken by Chamber`s Council were the open, pragmatic and proactive debates which took part during the meetings with members from different parts of the country, after which the Council promoted its proposals and comments on the draft related to amending the Directive 2006/43 EC on statutory audit, respectively, on the draft of European Parliament`s Regulation regarding the specific requirements for statutory audit of public interest entities, which claimed the need that audit reform to truly determine progress, respecting the basic values of the profession, according to current requirements, the independence, the competence and the transparency, in order to ensure the carrying out of quality audit missions, in the public interest.\r\nA highlight of the festivities was the anniversary of the "Financial Audit" Journal, which celebrated 10 years of uninterrupted service in the financial audit profession in Romania. In this respect, Univ. Prof. Ana Morariu, Ph. D., vice president of the Chamber`s Council and member of the Editorial Scientific Board of the journal, has sent a congratulatory message. \r\nChamber`s President Horia Neamţu announced the granting by the Chamber`s Council of the Awards of Excellence to Prof. Florin Georgescu, Ph. D., which was the first president of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania, and which had the initiative - in 2003 - to publish the journal "Financial Audit", as an important means of communicating with the members of the young professional organization of financial auditors created at that time.\r\nThe "Financial Audit" Journal`s awards were granted during a ceremony conducted by Prof. Horia Neamţu, Ph. D. The awards were granted as follows:\r\n• "Constantin Ionete" Award, to Prof. Eugeniu Ţurlea, Ph. D. and Mihaela Mocanu, Ph. D.\r\n• "Alexandru Rusovici" Award, to Prof. Elisabeta Jaba, Ph. D. (coordinator), Lect. Christiana Brigitte Balan Ph.D., Ioan Bogdan Robu, PhD. Student, Mihaela Alina Robu, Ph. D. Student, Prof. Mihai Roman, Ph. D.\r\nIn Constanţa the message addressed by the Chamber`s Council to the members on the National Day of Financial Auditors of Romania was read to those present by Ana Dincă, vice president of CFAR. It was followed by a message from Chamber`s Excellence Committee, presented by Prof. Maria Manolescu, Ph. D.\r\nA milestone was the granting of 15 medals for outstanding activity to the financial auditors from the South East Region.\r\n\r\n
