Abstract:
An attentive analysis of the internal audit from the perspective of the last years, will emphasize the significant qualitative transformations as a result of the improved integration of the function inside the organizations and its alignment to the stakeholders’ requirements. Considering that one of the success factors for the internal audit is the understanding of the expectations expressed by the executive management and those charged with governance, the present paper emphasizes the different expectations of the stakeholders and their particular visions regarding the role of the internal audit inside the organization. Starting from the best practices in internal audit, our research has approached the understanding and implementation of the three lines of defense, emphasizing the place and role of internal audit in an effective internal control system and risk management system. The author’s points of view, retained in the paper, bring clarifications and suggestions for the improvement of the internal auditors’ work, all the more as this professional segment needs a stringent dialog and experience exchange. \r\n\r\n\r\n
