Abstract:
This Global Economic Conditions Survey Report (GECS) was carried out jointly by ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) and is the largest regular economic survey of accountants in the world in term of both the number of respondents and the economic variables it monitors. The fieldwork was conducted between 27 February and 22 March 2014 and it attracted 1772 responses from ACCA and IMA members around the world; 700 of the respondents were senior finance professionals, including 171 chief financial officers.\r\nThe indices shown by the survey reveal that business confidence is beginning to win ground, reaching a positive territory, for the first time in five years. More than half of the respondents sample were more confident in their national economies, reporting that economic recovery was underway or about to begin.\r\n
