Abstract:
This paper is intended to investigate the use of the budgetary process and the motivational aspects that underpin it, in Romania-based companies. The paper looks in particular at the usefulness of staff participation in the establishment of budgetary objectives and at what motivates Romanian employees. The authors find that staff participation in the decision making and budgetary processes increases organizational performance and improves communication in Romanian companies, which leads to internalization of goals and finally, to better goal achievement. Work satisfaction, financial rewards and training are the main factors that motivate Romanian employees in achieving their objectives.\r\n
